The people behind the foundation
The Swedish Equestrian Championship Foundation was born from a burning conviction: that Sweden belongs at the very top of world equestrian sport, and should remain there for generations to come. Behind the foundation stand people who combine a deep love of horses and the sport with the will to build something lasting.
Sophie Stenbeck
Through the Stenbeck Foundation, Sophie Stenbeck laid the financial foundation for the foundation. With a long commitment to philanthropy, she wanted to create a lasting platform that gives Swedish equestrian sport the means to reach all the way — not only today, but for generations to come.
Henrik Ankarcrona
National show jumping team captain since 2016 and a five-star rider, with a background under trainers such as Paul Schockemöhle and Hans Horn. Henrik has shaped a whole generation of Swedish team riders, and the foundation is the mark he wants to leave behind.
The Tham family
With deep roots in Swedish equestrian sport and many years of commitment to the sport's development, the Tham family is one of the forces behind the foundation, driven by the same will: to give Swedish riders and horses the means to reach all the way, for generations to come.
Pro bono commitment, maximum impact
Behind the foundation stands a committed team with a passion for Swedish equestrian sport, all contributing entirely pro bono. The board is responsible for strategy, finances and capital management, and a sport council for priorities and the allocation of funds. The team is supported by advisors on operational and strategic matters and a broad network of experts across sporting development, research, technology, horse welfare and breeding.
When expertise is given pro bono and overhead is kept minimal, the largest possible share of resources goes directly into the sport.
